Exciting news for Aldworth!

Aldworth Parish Council has some exciting news to share! Over the past few weeks, we’ve been working closely with the Village Hall and West Berkshire Council to bring something special to our community…

A monthly Pop-Up Library is coming to the Saturday Market!

This means you’ll soon be able to browse, borrow and discover great reads while picking up your usual market favourites. Whether you’re a lifelong book lover or just looking for something new, there’ll be something for everyone.

We’re thrilled to be bringing the library to you, and can’t wait to see you there. The library launches on 4th April.

West Berkshire Libraries 'At Home' Service

If you can't come to us, we'll come to you.

If you find it difficult to visit your local library and are unable to get to us, possibly because of age, disability, lack of access to transport or caring responsibilities, our At Home Library Service may be able to deliver books to you.

There is no charge for this service, except when you request a book not held in any West Berkshire library.

How does it work?

A member of staff will visit you to discuss your requirements, to find out what sort of books you enjoy and whether you prefer hardbacks or paperbacks, large print books or perhaps audiobooks (spoken word items). If you want to use our e-library service, we can help you with that, too.

A library volunteer will then choose and deliver books to your home at a pre-arranged date and time, usually every three weeks. You can request favourite authors or particular titles and we will be happy to get them for you if we can.

Our library volunteers are friendly and always enjoy a chat. They have all been DBS (Police) checked.
